Cosmix School of Makeup Artistry is AUTHORIZED UNDER FEDERAL LAW TO ENROLL FOREIGN STUDENTS
In order to attend Cosmix School of Makeup Artistry a foreign student must first obtain a M-1 student visa from their local U.S. Embassy or Consulate. The process for obtaining an M-1 student visa (M-2 for spouse and minor children) begins with a prospective student:
- filling out a Student Application Form at Cosmix,
- paying a deposit to the school ($350 for the Multi-Media Makeup Artistry Program, $450 for Fashion Makeup Artistry, and $500 for Production Makeup Artistry- $150 is non-refundable),
- paying a $100 fee to SEVIS (see below), and
- sending proof of financial support.
Bank records should accompany the initial application. Before a U.S. Consul or Embassy will grant you a student visa, you must prove that you will have sufficient funds to meet all your expenses while studying in the United States . Unless you show written evidence of having financial support for the entire time needed to complete your program, you will not be granted a student visa.
Upon receiving the required documents, we will determine if your qualifications meet all our standards for admission. If accepted, we will issue you a I-20 form with an Acceptance Letter. You must then take the I-20 and SEVIS I-901 fee receipt to your local embassy or consulate with your supporting financial documents.
As of September 1, 2004 U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and SEVIS have changed the policy for M-1 Visas, requiring a fee of $100.00 (SEVIS Form I-901 fee). You can pay your $100 fee at https://www.fmjfee.com/index.jhtml . This payment will have to be made before you attend your interview with the U.S. Consulate.
